As of 1 December 2023, according to the main and additional indicators - the number of preschool institutions and facilities where educational work is carried out, number of children by sex, age, mother tongue and length of stay, number of educational groups according to the languages ​​on which the educational institution is conducted educational work and length of stay, number of children according to socioeconomic status of parents and the amount of payments paid by parents, number of employees by sex, type of work, level of education, professional development and length of working time, number of children per sex in preparatory preschool programu.

03.4. Statistical concepts and definitions

Children of pre-school age are children from six months to the beginning of elementary school. The activity of preschool education and education is carried out in the PU, and it can also be done exceptionally in elementary school. This research provides data on the number and type of preschool institutions, the type of property, the language in which the educational work is carried out, the mother tongue of the child, the number of educational groups, the age and sex of children, the length of the daily stay, the children according to the socioeconomic status of the parents, mixed groups, long-term treatment groups and development groups, the number and age of children with disabilities for whom the Individual Education Plan (IOP) and children for whom an Individual Support Plan (IPP) has been developed, employees by age, gender, cooking and working hours; special and specialized programs organized by the institution; the participation of parents in the costs of preschool education and the income of preschool institutions by sources.

03.5. Statistical unit

The statistical units are all preschool institutions (PU), state and private, which implement programs of preschool education and elementary schools where the pre-school education program takes place.

03.6. Statistical population

All pre-school institutions (PUs) that have the approval for the work of the competent minister, and which implement programs of preschool education, as well as the primary schools in which the pre-school education program takes place. The statistical report is submitted by each preschool institution, primary school and other organization for the parent institution, ie the school and for the selected department (if the PU / school performs activities outside the head office).

The data refer to the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

As of 1999, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia do not collect data for AP Kosovo and Metohia, se they are not included in this data set for the Republic of Serbia (total).

The survey is conducting on the basis of the Law on official statistics ("Official Gazzete of the Republic of Serbia" number 104/2009).

Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has an agreement on cooperation with a large number of organizations and institutions, both nationally and internationally, with which it exchange information, data and experiences. There is also intensive cooperation between different organizational units within the Office itself.

The pre-school education and education statistics report is provided by each pre-school (state and private) institution for the home institution and for other facilities - the settlement, including the primary schools in which the preparatory preschool program is organized.
