State of playat the beginning and at the end of school year by main indicators- data about number and type of upper secondary school, ownership form, data on the number of students by gender and students with disabilities, students by fields of education and profiles for which they are educated.

This survey provides data on the status, structure and development of schoolss, sexstructure and movement of upper secondary students, students who participate in different fields of education and profiles.

Statistical unit is every upper secondary school in the Republic of Serbia.

Students attending upper secondary education (regular and education for students with disabilities).

The data refer to the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

As of 1999, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia do not collect data for AP Kosovo i Metohia, so they are not included in this data set for the Republic of Serbia (total).

The survey is conducting on the basis of the Law on official statistics ("Official Gazzete of the Republic of Serbia" number 104/2009).

Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia fills annual UOE (Unesco, OECD, Eurostta) and UNESCO-UIS questionnaires, gathering various data on all levels of education.

Data confidetiality is guaranteed by the Law on the official statistics which prescribes the use of data solely for statistical purposes and Rullebook on protection of statistical data in the  Statistical Office.

Data are comparable in series from 2010 with no interuption. From the end of the 2022/2023 school year. and the beginning of 2023/2024. year, data on secondary education do not provide data on regional school departments, so comparability for that indicator has a break in the data series.

The SORS general revision policy constitutes the global frame ensuring that each statistical domain shall define its own revision policy in compliance with its specific nature.

- documents covering all aspects of revisions.

18.1. Source data

Data for the end of the 2022/2023 school year, the beginning of 2023/2024 school year and data on secondary education were obtained from the database of the Ministry of Education - the Unified Information System of Education (JISP). In conclusion with the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year, the Republic Institute of Statistics conducted regular statistical surveys on secondary education, where secondary schools submitted statistical reports with the situation at the beginning and the end of the school year.
