Share of women deputies in total number of deputies of municipal and City assemblies in the Republic of Serbia, expressed as percentage.

Methodological explanations

Local government is a result of decentralization, a process of transferring political, fiscal, and administrative powers from the central government to sub-national units of government  to regulate and/or run certain government functions or public services, on their own, in the administrative-territorial areas of a country.

Method of calculation

The proportion of seats held by women in the local governments is derived by dividing the total number of seats occupied by women by the total number of seats in local government.
