Definition

The ratio of the number of inhabitants who have electricity in their household (answer to the question HC8.A, Household Questionnaire) and the total number of inhabitants, expressed in percent.

Methodological explanations

In the MICS 2010 and MICS 2014 surveys, households with electricity are those households where the answer to question HC8 [A], Household Questionnaire: Does your household have electricity? has been confirmed. In the MICS 2019 survey, households that have electricity are those households that are connected to the grid (interconnected grid) or not connected to the grid (off-grid) but have an generator/isolated system (question HC8). 

 

Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is a global UNICEF survey.  
MICS Serbia is a nationally representative sample survey of households, women and children, conducted on the whole territory of Serbia (excluding Kosovo and Metohija). The data are from surveys:  MICS 2010 (MICS IV) , MICS 2014 (MICS V)  and MICS 2019 (MICS VI) . As a separate sample the survey covered  households in Roma settlements.

Method of calculation

The number of residents who have electricity in their household is divided by the total number of inhabitants and multiplied by 100. Observation units are  members of all surveyed households.
