Definition

This indicator provides information on the mean hourly earnings  of employees by sex, major groups of occupation and age.

Methodological explanations

The term earning refers to gross earning, with applicable taxes and contributions borne by the employee.

 

Employees' earnings comprise all payments for work performed and time spent on work, earnings based on employee's contribution to the business success of the employer (rewards, bonuses), compensation for transport costs for going to and from work and other earnings based on employment in accordance with the general act and the employment contract.

Method of calculation

The average hourly earnings are calculated as the ratio of earnings paid to the employee and paid hours in the observed month (October).
