Definition

Unemployment rate presents the percentage share of unemployed population in labour force (employed and unemployed).

Methodological explanations

Unemployed persons are persons who did not perform any paid job in the observed week, nor did they have a job from which they were absent and could return after the expiry of the leave, provided that they met the following criteria: they have been active in the last four weeks steps in order to find work and that, if they were offered a job, they were able to start work within two weeks; that in the last four weeks they have not been actively looking for a job, because they have found a job that they should start working after the end of the observed week, and at the latest in three months.
