Goods transport refers to the carriage of cargo or goods of all types, from the place of loading to the place of unloading. The unit of measurement in goods transport is 1 tkm, representing the carriage of one tonne over a distance of one kilometer. | |
Methodological explanations | |
The data on goods transport in inland waterways, air, and road transport are obtained from transport enterprises (organizations registered for transport activities), regardless of whether the transport was performed within or outside the country, on the account of the domestic or foreign user.
The railway freight transport volume, shown in tonne-kilometers, refers to the transport carried out within the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as outside the borders of our country, and carried out by the enterprises registered in the domain of rail freight transport.
The pipeline traffic data covers transport conducted by oil and gas pipelines and reported by enterprises registered in the domain of oil and gas transport. | |

Tonne-kilometers in total freight transport are obtained by summing tonne-kilometers in land transport, inland waterways transport, and air transport.
Tonne-kilometers in total land transport are obtained by summing tonne-kilometers in railway, road, and pipeline transport. | |
