This indicator is defined as the percentage of medium and high technology (MHT - Medium and high-tech manufacturing value added) industries to the total value added of all manufacturing industries. | |
Methodological explanations | |
Value added is the gross income from operating activities after adjustment with subsidies and indirect taxes. The calculation of value added includes the value of output and subsidies minus taxes on production, taxes on products and the value of intermediate consumption which includes cost of materials, cost of industrial services, cost of non-industrial services and part of other personnel costs.
High and medium-high technology manufacturing are covered by the following NACE Rev. 2 activities: C20+C21+C254+C26+C27+C28+C29+C30-C301+C325. | |
