Definition

Liquid assets to short-term liabilities: ratio of liquid assets (cash and cash equivalents, part of accounts of assets and financial assets up to 3 months (loans, securities and claims for interest and fees), dinar state securities with maturities over 3m)) and total short-term liabilities, expressed as a percentage.

Methodological explanations

Seven Financial Soundness Indicators - FSI are included as SDG indicator 10.5.1: (1) Regulatory Tier 1 capital to assets, (2) Regulatory Tier 1 capital to risk-weighted assets, (3) Nonperforming loans net of provisions to regulatory capital, (4) Nonperforming loans to total gross loans, (5) Return on assets, (6) Liquid assets to short-term liabilities and (7) Net open position in foreign exchange to regulatory capital

 

Data for the Republic of Serbia are published on the website of the National Bank of Serbia at https://nbs.rs/en/drugi-nivo-navigacije/statistika/ (Key indicators: Key macroprudential Indicators), as well as within the extended General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS) at https://www.stat.gov.rs/en-US/NSDP-Serbia.

 

Data in e-GDDS is published in early April for the previous year and refers to data from the fourth quarter of the previous calendar year.

Method of calculation

Ratio of liquid assets (cash and cash equivalents, part of accounts of assets and financial assets up to 3 months (loans, securities and claims for interest and fees), dinar state securities with maturities over 3m)) and total short-term liabilities, expressed as a percentage.
