The proportion of the domestic budget financed by domestic taxes is the participation of domestic taxes in the expenditure of the national budget. Taxes are one of the revenues of the government and are the most important public income. They can be: income tax of an individual, corporate income tax of legal entities, property tax, excise duties, value added tax (VAT) and other taxes. The government budget (national) is the execution of the government's expenditures. Indicator 17.1.2 represents the percentage of domestic taxes in the national budget. | |

This indicator reflects the extent to which a country's recurrent and capital expenditures are covered by the mobilization of domestic revenue through taxation. | |
Method of calculation | |
The data sources for deriving this indicator are fiscal statistics reported by the IMF Statistics Department. The data come from various institutions (Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, National Statistical Office, etc.) and are compiled according to a standardized data collection method: the annual GFS Questionnaire. | |
