The indicator is based on the annual Status Report on National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). In collaboration with its partners, PARIS21 reports on country progress in designing and implementing national statistical plans. The indicator is a count of countries that are either implementing a strategy, designing one or awaiting adoption of the strategy in the current year, by source of funding. | |

State Statistical Legislation: The Statistics Law defines the rules, regulations, and measures related to the organization, management, monitoring, and verification of statistical activities in a systematic manner, ensuring strength, effectiveness, and efficiency. Its goal is to guarantee full coverage, accuracy, and consistency with facts, providing a reference for policymaking, socio-economic planning, and contributing to the country's development to achieve prosperity, cultural advancement, well-being, and equality. The State Statistics Law will be considered aligned with the United Nations Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics, if it includes provisions covering all ten principles. | |
